Hood/Hinge Problem

i recently got the silvia front end for my s13. once i installed the hood i noticed it wasnt latching into the hood latch. i positioned the hood in the correct spot. so why would this be, any ideas?

did u adjust the hinges front to back and the latch up and down?

Yeah the hood latch mechanism adjusts, it might be too low for the hood to close.

Yeah, I had that problem on an old accord. Went to the junkyard to get a new latch assembly. Turns out all I needed was to adjust the height. Might want to try that.

the hood is in the correct position, the front hook sits right in the latch. edit: it just doesn't click in all the way.

loosen the screws and it will slide up and down

Should be three bolts right on the latch assembly, not the part on your hood. You might want to mark the assebly where its at right now with a marker or chaulk before you loosen the bolts. This way you can tell if you moved it up or not.
