Okay, I my driver side hood hinge is broken..so I thought of something that i could do..

I was thinking about running 4 hood pins similar to the two on that car. I think it wouldn't be a bad idea has anyone done it? If so can I see pictures of it? I don't mind not being able to hold the hood up..

Does anyone know of cheap but good hood pins? I prefer Locking Pins...But the Aero Catch pins are kinda expensive.

Why would you need pictures of it on a 240? You know what it looks likes. I wouldnt do it on a car that is a daily driver bc its just a pain bc you need two people to get it off.

cheap =/= good. Spend some money or search google for "hood" and "flying off at freeway speeds" then get back to us.

I know.

I'm not an idiot, but I'm not saying 10 dollar ebay ones. -_-;

I'm taking about those JEG's ones I'd say are cheaper then most, and I see cars using those...

The aero catch ones would run me 200 dollars. -_-

and a hinge at the junkyard is a few bucks.

hoodpins are for ricers and people with actual lightweight hoods. not for ghetto rigging

I have this same setup on my S13.5. Reason is because the S13.5 fenders sucks, I should have done metal fender.

But if you search classifieds there is a guy selling brand new OEM S13 hood hinges.... and that person is me.

Well I'm neither, and Its a track car, so I don't see how it would be ghetto rigged. So if anyone knows of any for around 50 bucks a set let me know..

Really....... Seriously just buy another buy or just steal one from a junk yard. You would be wasting money on the pins putting more holes in your hood and maybe replacing a windshield and pulling the roof if your not careful.

i dont really like how it was done on that s15 conversion, i kinda like to have the top ones closer to the corners but i havent really looked at where they would go in the s13. its not that complicated though and can be done cheap, to make it look good just take ur time... i did it before on my old car (not an s chassis) its actually pretty comfortable being able to just take off the hood throw it to the side and work on the car.

there's a spot right behind the strut towers that would work and also a spot at the very back corners of the engine bay.

i snapped a hood hinge so i'm also doing the 4 pin route with some sparco pins i picked up.

placement of the pins on the red s13 is kinda odd, most people do between the headlights.

or people in racing sanctions that require hood pins due to the speed that their cars will hit. i know that it's required where i'm headed. Think before you speak
