It looks like the following parts from a Maxima will do the job for half the price. Looks pretty straightforward with a little drilling and bracket mod. Anybody willing to try?

this mod will make your car look more "luxury" then the old fugly metal rod... i am not a mechanic or anything and i dont want to mess up something so il wait for an actual 2008 altima strut..

Doesn't the G35/350 come with it stock? Why can't you just use those parts?

For that price, I'd rather stick with the manual prop-up.

I had these hood shocks on my eclipse. If you get the regular quicklifts they will be black. Only the elites are silver. They were quick and easy to install. 45 min total is what i took me on my spyder. i highly recommend this product. I will see if i can get the rep from the eclipse forum to join over here. Maybe we can get a group buy going or maybe even come development.

What are we looking at in terms of cost and installation? I would not expect this to be a simple bolt on installation but if cheaper than going with off the shelf Nissan spares, then count me in.
