Has anyone installed hood gas struts on the rogue? I'm looking for an inexpensive universal set. Thanks

AFAIK, no one has done this mod in this forum. So that's good news for you, because you get to figure out all the details and put together a DIY for others! :dblthumb:

I thought about this few years back too, will revisit this summer.
Couple thoughts:
The rouge hood is effin heavy, would need lifts that will hold at least 100-150lbs each. These were hard to fine in a smaller shock. I'm still looking for a good spot to mount the ends.

roguemjl has a 2nd gen Rogue which features a lighter weight hood than your 1st gen model. It was one of numerous weight saving changes made to help the larger 2nd gen models use less fuel than it otherwise would.

Ahh, yes you are right, did not realize that the gen2 had lighter hood. Thanks.

Cool find!

According to a seller of after market replacement parts, their unpainted 1st gen hood weighs in at 63 lbs. The 2nd gen hood is almost 1/3 the weight at 23.2 lbs.

Yes, I ordered a set last night. Shipping from China so it may take a while. I will update when I get them installed. At least I hope the mounts work. I should be able to find different struts if need be.

The struts never showed up from China. No updated shipping details after asking quite a few times. Asked for a refund. Will look elsewhere. Don't buy from this seller. Well, he will be probably be selling the same thing under a different name.
