I own a 2015 SL AWD and although I rarely take it on the highway, on two different trips that I've used it for, I notice the hood flaps during high speeds 65-70 MPH with strong to moderate cross winds. I can only see it on the driver side corner closest to the windshield, but very noticeable to where I've pulled over just to make sure the hood is shut completely.

I'm just curious if anyone has experienced this? I did a search on the forum and didn't get any direct information. Today, I adjusted the hood stops half a turn and will hopefully see improvement the next time I go for a drive. I don't hear the hood rattling when it's happening, but I can see the corner of the hood shaking/flapping. Just curious. Thanks in advance.

You may find, contrary to logic, that's it's kinda "normal."

My Frontier, Titan, and G35 Coupe all did the same thing. With the hood down, wiggle up and down on that corner... there may be a tiny bit of play in the hood hinge, or it may simply be the thin metal of the hood structure flexing.

I'd be way more concerned if it was the leading edge, rather than the trailing edge! :)

If it feels excessive, I'd run it by the dealer and ask if they can have a look.

Yeah, that's what I figured. Since it's the trailing edge of the hood that I noticed, it probably isn't a big concern. Adjusting the rubber stops did take out some play in the front, but anything more than half a turn and the hood starts to sit higher than the fender.

I appreciate the response.

I believe the hook is made from a very light aluminum for weight savings, so it makes sense

That's about how much I see from the driver's seat. I guess it doesn't take much for it to bend and flex. It's the cost of having good gas mileage. It just makes me wonder how much air resistance it's causing. I still haven't had the chance to see if adjusting the rubber stops will help.

I had the same issue so I lowered the lock mechanism. It's held by 3 bolt that can be opened to allow adjustment.

Quick update.... I finally took the Rogue out for a long drive on the highway. Looks like the adjustment did the trick for my hood. I no longer see the corner edge of the hood vibrating anymore. Just as I mentioned in my previous post, I only adjusted the rubber stop half a turn. Any more seemed too much and caused the hood to sit higher than the fender. My next step would have probably been to try RGOLD's recommendation and adjust the locking mechanism. Luckily all looks well. Thanks for all the recommendations.
