Alright, well today I picked up my first 240. (91 SE hatch 5 speed). The total trip took around 13 hours from start to finish, but it was totally worth it.

I have a alignment problem that's going to bug the crap out of me until I get it resolved.

I didn't notice how misaligned the whole front end was until I brought it home.( Those pictures are with the hood closed)

I searched nico and googled, but I really didn't find any informative posts. I did find a couple threads that dealt with adjusting the rubber bumpers to let the hood sit higher, but that's not my problem.(The hood sits even with the top of the fenders).

My question is... is there any way I can fix this myself? Or am I going to have to take it to a body shop to get it properly aligned?

Thanks.

your hood looks like it needs to come foreward, that you can adjust fairly easily, the headlight will be a little tougher to align but you shouldnt need to take it to a body shop. what bothers me is, why is the 240 in your sig doing a fwd burnout?

It's not, there was strong winds that day and the smoke was blowing from the rear to the front... lol. To be honest... I got smoke happy in paint shop and went overboard.

To pull the hood forward I just need to loosen the the bolts on each hinge, pull forward, then tighten correct?

Well, I pulled the hood forward. ( For those who want to do this, all you need is a 12mm wrench.)

Results:

I can't get the drivers light/hood spacing to match passengers. I haven't tried messing with moving the fender or the bringing the bumper up. I'll probably try tomorrow after work.

Thanks guys for the insight.

it looks a lot better, but it also looks like the bumper is shifted over to the drivers side, or is it your passenger fender thats not aligned? i vote mess with shifting the bumper more toward the passenger side and then go from there.

-just an idea, put some masking tape on the edges of the body parts you will be working around, as not to chip the paint, then it would look like poop.
