hood deflector

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Has anyone found a hood deflector for the EX? I have just gotten a couple of chips in my hood from a passing semi throwing rocks off its tires. I would prefer a hood deflector, but the dealership says nothing is available except to put a plastic coating on the front end. Has anyone found a supplier. I did find one dealership,

advertising a hood deflector, but the picture shows an FX, not an EX, so I am skeptical.

Their part numbers are usually right even thoguh their pics aren't. If you look at heir cargo organizer for the EX they have the patrt number is right even if the pic is wrong.

My dealer actually didnt know anything about the cargo organizer until I told them the part number. Then they confirmed they can order it. Which I got thrown in my deal. Pull up the part number and send it to your dealer and see what they say.

Hey thanks for the feedback and the good ideas. I'll give the parts number to my local dealer, see what he says and then report back.

Checked with my dealership today and while they didn't show a hood deflector was available, they ran the part # I got from an internet site and said "yep, you are right, a hood deflector is now available for the EX35." My dealership quoted a price of $118, but I think the online dealership quoted $84. I'll have to see what shipping and handling run..it will probably be close.

Thanks again for the great suggestions....I want to get this on before they start sanding the roads for winter.

yuk. that looks so 80s. We had the entire front bumper and 3rd of the hood covered in this:

Can't even tell it is there.

Sorry to ressusitate an old tread, but I was wondering if such a device was "a must" for your hoods? For those who have 2008 and 09 models, has your hood been damaged by debris and such over time? Does the protector actually help in this regards?

Personally, I don't like the looks of them. As others have posted, go with a 3M or equivalent film!

This is my company car and like the past vehicles...when I negotiated the deal I include a few extras...the front deflector has been a must! Love it...It sure it helps just like the other ones I have used in the past. A dark smoke color on my Dark Curant looks fine...even the sales guy (young guy) mentioned that when I picked up.

I have the option of purchasing the vehicle when it is time to get replaced so that is why I have chosen to add the deflector...stone chips in the paint right on the front is not fun looking as the years go by.

I wouldn't trade the deflector on mine for anything.
I like the added protection. Dallas is hell on cars.

It makes a difference.

My color is perfect for it to blend in.
