So, I just installed my hood deflector 95 000kms later. You should see my poor hood, looks like someone took a sand blaster to it. I don't know what I was thinking not installing one when I first bought it.

They look sharp........and they do a great job!

If you don't like the look then I would strongly recommend getting the 3M plastic strip at the front of your hood.

When you mean hood deflector, do you mean a bug shield? What kind of hood deflector do you have. Can you post a picture. I've tried to buy a bug shield and they told me they don't make them yet.

Please link the 3M one referred to, also.

Does anyone make a clear one as opposed to the dark (smoke) grey?EDIT: I just saw the clear one from Ebay linked in the other thread. I don't do Ebay but I'll look around and find it elsewhere.

I'm a little concerned about the whistling noise being reported from those deflectors. Weren't some people having durability problems with them too?

The clear hood bra on ebay is absolute crap! It just wouldn't stick. You have to stretch it to size...once you pull on one end...the other end comes off. A high price for a lot of agrevation. I wound up throwing it away. Yes...I followed the instructions and tutorial video.

Thanks for the warning.

Do you know of a screw on hood deflector that is clear instead of smoke?

tint shops in the Baltimore area offer a 3m plastic coating for the hood and front bumper. A friends got it on his camero and it seems to doa good job. he's had to replace it once though, after about 6 years. it costed him $85 so on a smaller car it should be less.

I'm not really worrying about little dents and scratches because I'll probably wreak the car before I get a chance to sell it.

i would rather get a clear 3M , i think the deflector on the CF hood would not look good at all

I bought my bug deflector from the Nissan dealership where I purchased the car. The price with taxes was just under $90. My dad helped me to install it, and it didn't take us very long. I installed it about a month after purchasing the car (new) because I didn't want to ruin the hood.

Here is a pic ...

Hey, I have noticed a whistling noise after installing the deflector. But the noise only happens in the summer when it is extremely windy out. It doesn't really bother me anymore.

And, its almost been a year since I have had my deflector and its still holding on strong. Even through the crazy winter we have had.

I purchased mine directly from Nissan, so it should be okay. I don't think I would trust the ebay ones though. Just my opinion.

Hope this helps your decision!
