Does anyone know if there are any other hood dampers that fit our cars besides these Stillen ones?

http://www.stillen.com/product...m=all

I wouldn't mind putting these on but $100 + $35 shipping (to Hawaii) isn't very appealing.

not really being cheap, but stillen didnt make these dampers that well from some of the reviews ive heard on here... the chin killing action, or hard to close hood, etc

im not saying that its bad, im saying that 135 bucks (i live in canada so shipping is about the same), i would seriously reconsider/wait for a new choice

stillen is great for their fast products that come out, but because they are "fast" they lack the developement process and thus we have not so perfect items

eg. double sided taped side skirts...such a disappointment in those after find out such rediculous solution to holding the skirts. You may argue they are holding on well and such, but those who have gotten it, may have only had it for half a year...how much longer will these tape last? in weathers that go from +35 to -40 with rain and snow (like my city), plus once in a while scrapes from speed bumps etc...

i doubt it will last over 2 years in my city and i have to pay 400 for then before shipping/tax/paint/install

LOL MY post got so out of main topic, but yea its 4:37am right now and yes i felt like ranting on stillen

the stillen dampers in rod down opens wonderfully, there is also redline tuning that makes some for 06 altimas but they could easily be put on an 08 altima. they did their homework right from the start and made them open smoothly http://www.redlinetuning.com/Q....htmlthey even have a video http://www.redlinetuning.com/q...5.MOV

here's a vid of my stillen dampershttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCGUEZJLbAc

First, STILLEN builds there products slowly and for quality. STILLEN didn't rush into building these, they were only pushed, by this forum. They developed these for months, and they came out with the best design at the time. Mehdi came up with a different, and arguably, more effective way to mount them. That's great. Good for him, and it makes a great product even better. You wonder why STILLEN doesn't make a grill right now for the coupe? Its because they don't think it will be on STILLENS level of plug and play quality. The would make BANK if they built a grill for the coupe, but its been decided they cannot make it on a quality level they expect.

The rockers cannot have clips built into them because they are build an inch lower than the stock clip holes in the body of the car. So they have to hold it on with tape. Its that simple. Try building a part for a car, then you can criticize how someone else fuked it away.

The reason why they didnt have clips on them were because it would take too long for them to devolope. Its what one of the reps from stillen on here stated. And also it would cost them more money to manufacture and design

if i can find their statement on this, il prove you wrong!

and for building a part for a car... i havent done so, but for my brothers celica, my old integra, the after market side skirts all had factory screws on the bottom and sides (not double sided tape)

Find me that post, then you may have some proof.

However, I helped design the damn things, I have the info on it. The exact problem that we ran into was the bottom of the skirt is an inch and a half below the metal frame. So, if you look at the stock skirt, the bottom made direct contact with the body, so there was all kinds of surface area to put screws through. With the STILLEN rocker, this is not the case. Since there is no surface area on the bottom that touches the body (because its lower), screws cannot go through to hold it up. Thus, the double sided tape.

How's that? Meaning the name brand or the quality of these is lower than that of the Stillen ones?

I guess that's what I was trying to get at...how's the quality of these compared to the Stillen ones...and not just better/worse, more the reason behind one's better than the other.
