I finally got around installing my NRG hood damper, they also make one for carbon fiber hoods. With the help of zinistr's dremel work and another buddy.
You'll need a 10mm deep socket for the body bolt & 12 mm wrench for the hood.
It's good to compress each damper several times before the install. Placing a towel on the ground & using another towel folded in your palm to make it less painful & easier to compress damper downwards.
When measuring for your dremel cut, place the removed black plastic cover and align with the tab holes & body bolt, use a magic marker making a U shape on the plastic cover next to the body bolt then just follow the lines slightly wider when dremeling.
Place some healthy dabs of bearing grease on all 4 ball joints.
Another thing about the NRG kit is that the markings of the bracket which goes under the hood, R goes on the drivers side & L on the passenger side, usually it's the opposite.

So if your into car shows, auto cross or track events or even working on your engine bay where you'll need your hood up for a lenghtly time...excellent on windy days too!
Here's some pics...

Very nice! I'm actually looking to buy a pair of carbon fiber version right now. I noticed you installed the dampers in the right way as well. :dblthumb:

Looks great! I've considered picking up a pair for a while now, but my priority is on the other end.

When you install some heavy duty hatch supports do a writeup/review, I'm tired of getting hit on the head when the the weather turns cold! :gapteeth:

SluggoZ, I actually ordered the EVO-R cf ones from thezstore instead of NRG ones since supposedly no plastic trimming is needed. Plus the EVO-R ones have 2-stage opening (half way and all the way up).

BB, I have the heavy duty hatch dampers as well, but I only installed one heavy duty one and kept the other oem one. :D
It held up my Nismo V2 wing pretty darn good. But I will install the other heavy duty one this coming weekend.

I finally had time to install the EVO-R hood dampers. The install was simple and took me about 20 minutes or so.
I really like these since no trimming was required, and they have 2-stage opening, which is pretty cool.

Here are some pictures.
