Anyone know of a hood for the pop up S13 front that will clear the VH intake with minimal trimming and shimming?

I'm getting sick of having inch tall spacers in the back.

Thanks!!!

A carbon Fiber one from Extreme dimensions (http://extremeduraflex.com/) I think works.

What mounts are you running too? That can change things a little

Im running Xcessive mounts. I've been thinking about a cowl, but the pop up front has a dip in the center so it would look like crap. The Silvia hood has a rise in the middle so if you could follow those creases, it might look kinda cool... thanks for the link though

Mazwork mounts will sit the engine lower. The ones I have that will be release in January, will sit the engine lower than those. There is also a guy on here that makes mounts which are low sitting too and he has then in an S13 without hood spacers.

I had thought about doing a cowl similar to that of the new camaro. I think that would look really cool. Even something like the Shelby would rock to. A wide cowl that integrates into the hood.

The problem I see is that if I lower the motor any, the headers will drag even more. Ive got mazworx headers and they drag pretty bad on my car. Its pretty low but not the lowest by any means.

Did you already cut the framework under the hood? I mounted mine with the oil pan flush with the crossmember. That's as low as I wanted it to go. I have a hole cut in my oem steel hood now, but I plan to get a CF hood from VIS and put a nice cowl on it. I'm pretty certain the VIS CF OEM Style hood doesn't dip in the middle.

sure did. I only have inch and a half spacers, but its just enough to make me want to have the hood flush again. I think the Silvia hood is better because it pops up in the middle instead of the indention the popup hoods have

Origin has a cowl style hood available. it's their "type II" model.

I don't know how it fits, but when i emailed them they told me it does increase clearance.

***this is the underside of their s14 type II hood, showing that clearance is there where the cowl is:

Ya I can't say as I'm nowhere near close to that step in my build, but when i emailed them about the s13 popup version I got this response:

The raised center section of the TypeII is actually functional and adds roughly an inch of clearance to the under side of hood.
