Hood clearance with Mckinney VQ mounts?

Hey folks. I'm gathering parts together to swap a vq35 into my S13. I went and spoke with Mack a few weeks, and was asking about hood clearance, and he said he wasn't sure, because every swap they had personally done had an aftermarket hood on it. Has anybody used these and kept the stock hood? I don't want to get a carbon hood because I spent AGES painting my car, and there's no way a hood respray would properly match the rest of the paint. WAY too much pearl in the paint color for it to come out right. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

HA! Absolutely not. I have beautiful alignment on the hood, I'm not gonna trash it with spacers. I'll repaint the under side of the hood and cut up the skeleton before I'll just put hood spacers.
