I have my sr motor sitting in my 89 240 now. It looks like i am gonna have hood clearance problems with the front of the valve cover though, as well as with my radiator cap since i bought a koyo radiator. any thoughts/ideas/suggestions? thanks very much

You'd be suprised. My CA sits insanely high in the engine bay with the nismo mounts. Myself and many of my friends decided there was no way in hell that the hood would fit. But, it does :)

Thanks for the input, i put the hood on last night and what the hell? it fit.i thought it was real wierd cus i slid a piece of wood across the fenders simulating where the hood would sit, and the piece of wood hit the valve cover. But somehow it fit.

Same thing on my friends SR. He has the HKS hotpipe and BOV which sits higher up than his valve cover does. I was like, hehe, good luck closing your hood. And it doesnt' rub. Just a mystery of the world I guess.

Just goes to show that S13's will swallow as much horsepower making crap (read: MONEY) as you can throw at them.

OK, here is a doozy. I have noticed that my hood is scratched and I an looking into the group buy deal on the VIS invader hood. If you look at the pic (visracing.com/invadercarbon.htm) the hood has a littl thing that goes down in the middle. Do you think ther would be a clearance issue?

The Invader hood WILL rub the valve cover on the SR. We have one here in the shop that has a rub mark on the valve cover from the engine. We are making custom brackets for the motor mounts so it sits lower becuase he really likes the hood. The OEM CF hood will fit with no probs but the Invader was designed for the KA. Same goes for the 92-95 Civic Invader hoods, they rub on DOHC motors.
