Felt I had to post this. I had a 3rd gen prelude for 5 years. Went thru 3 of the same year <89> . I kept being hit, and then going and buying another with the insuance money. The last time I was hit, a friend said, why not buy a 240sx. I went to autotrader.com, and found one for 1500. I *****in love this car Its lighter, faster, takes turns better, out accerates and has lower maintence then my prelude. And thaks to this forum, what maintence I have to have done, I can do myself. I have added a cold air intake, replaced the head, OBX coilovers <bad choice, no suspenson, to bumpy, bottem out all the time> I should have gone for the $400 instead of the $200. I added a catback n1 exhast, and a new chip. I added pioneer speakers, don't know the model off hand, Pioneer headunit <deh p-6200> Added 2 JL audio 10 W6v2's. Had to have a custom box built because my coupe trunk was to low. I have many plans for this car, slowly, when my budget allows. I will never own a honda again. I would buy a Supra, or a celica, but only an older year, below 90's. For now though, I am very happy with my 91 240sx coupe.

Well said man! My first car was a 89 Se-i Accord coupe. I loved that thing for a while until I replace two trannies "second not my fault", a master cylinder, two calipers, two sets of brakes, two sets of perf. springs "neuspeed", two sets of springs "first kyb, never again, second tokico", clutch, flywheel, fifth gear and synchro, front axle, exhaust, ignition switch, and I forget what else.

Well anyways, I then was looking to buy a s14 or a new lude. Almost gave up on the s14 idea until I found one on cars.com, but it didn't have a pic. I said fu@k it, I will go look at it, the rest is history.

haha, I think these honda hatin posts are very health for us, I mean think about it, we vent our frustrations here rather then killing the honda bastards that piss us off, imagine if we couldn't post this here, we would kill a honda owner, our beautiful 240s would be auctioned off and some geeky honda owner would buy it and bring his supreme rice knowledge to these wonderful boards!!!! So no matter what ninja says KEEP THE HONDA HATING!!!

Hope your next post doesn't say, "No matter what HITMAN says...".

I'm thinking the only geek here is the brave s***-for-brains talking a ton of smack from behind a monitor...

You'd "kill a Honda owner"? WTF is that? How is it that someone pisses you off by owning a certain car?

Just so you know, I feel the EXACT SAME WAY about pimply-faced punk-a$$ kids who have very little experience behind the wheel driving 17-second fart-canned econoboxes who think they're Mike Friggin' Schumacher. They piss me off - if that's you, then YOU piss me off. But no one's getting hurt, so settle your spastic a$$ down, little man, before you get moderated off the site.

p.s. Might want to drop your avatar while your're at it - Because compared to some of us around here, with years of racing/law enforcement/defensive driving experience, YOU are the bad driver.

Were you refering to me? Iam more then delightful to express my opinions face 2 face on IRC or wherever, I consider myself very open and do not like people to censor themselves for I do not like to censor myself.

Sure might as well kill the hondas owners before they kill themselves and the others around them,(Iam guessign its a regional thing, the bad drivers and I guess you could say more "daring" drivers tend to drive hondas, and it seems(from my observations) is that they drive like to try and "impress" someone, which in turn impresses no one and makes them look incredibly stupid.

Iam glad you feel the same, and sorry Iam not some punk *** pimply ****. No one is getting hurt?? I guess majority of the wrecks people get into don't get hurt and telling me to settle down? Sounds like someone starting to feel a power trip. Iam sorry but I tend to get a little pissed when little ****s get in their mom&dads car and decide to play fast & furious in traffic and come close to wiping you or someone else out, I saved and searched and bought my car myself with my own moneyy and take pride in it, I have alot of respect for it(due to my hard work in the ownership of it) and I do not want some little **** in some slow *** honda to try and prove he is something he is not and destroy my treasure.

And I actually think I will keep my avatar, I have grown fond of it, and it is easy for you to say Iam a bad driver when you know about me or the way I drive. If you are basing experience on years, then sure probley lots of you have it over me, but YEARS doesn't make you a good driver it is called common sense and Iam sure you see a lack of that daily on the roads.

So do me a favor please stand back with your hostile mood swings Iam not looking to get into a pointless arguement.

btw, I realize it is not only people that drive Hondas that drive bad, its all groups, but in my area especially it seems like hondas wreck more for immature reasons, so it is very easy to stereotype hondas and bad drivers. Am I against racing? Not really, in public high traffic areas, of course!!! My dad was a EMT so I hear first hand of the stories of people choosing to race through traffic and high volume areas.

Hostile mood swings? First of all, the hostility started with you, my friend. See your first post above, citing "killing" people for no good reason (and several other posts elsewhere). I'll not "stand back" - I'll explain why your ridiculous outbursts make NO SENSE whatsoever.

Saying, "...all (or even most) sh!tty drivers drive Hondas" is just ignorant. BTW - why do you keep referring to Honda's as "slow-a$$"? You have a slow car as well - in case you didn't notice...

It sounds to me like you are probably a fairly defensive driver and don't appreciate idiotic people taking stupid chances on the roadways we all share. If that's your point, I completely respect it, honor it and agree with it whole-heartedly, especially since my vehicles frequently transport my 3 kids.

Again, my point was that so many people consider themselves "better than average" drivers, especially young males. But how many of them make an annual pilgrimage to a racing school OR take the time to learn complicated accident-avoidance maneuvers from a professional? Common sense is valuable, yes, but I have YET to see a "newer" driver (without specialized training) with sufficient skills to be considered a "good driver". Believe me, I laugh at them (and avoid them on the track) every time I go to the Bondurant School.

Understand this: Driving skill has NOTHING to do with the marque of car someone drives (any more than it has to do with their gender or race). I have some theories and generalizations about gender and even race (as it relates to bad driving habits) but to advocate hurting or killing someone based upon the emblem attached to the trunklid of their car is the ultimate in stupidity.

In my eyes and the eyes of other drivers, there may be a time when they perceive YOU as the sh!tty driver. You wouldn't want some "better driver" advocating that you should die.

So the extreme hating based upon car brand needs to stop - and call it a power trip if you wish. Anyone else like to chime in here?

Hell of a way to burn my 1000th post.

p.s. Rice is ALWAYS in season, however!:D

A big thing that seperates them and me, I realize I drive a slow car and I do not try to do stupid things on the road in traffic to try and make myself or others believe it is some super fast race car. I do not consider my self a better then average driver, just a good and cautious one. I have yet made a pilgrimage to race school, which I really do want to do one day, $$ and not a know location of one limits that journey.

You can accuse me of stereotyping hondas then, I realize it is not the emblem on a car that makes you a bad driver, but the person behind the wheel. I seen a video of a corvette and ferrari in a crash on the streets due to daring drivers.

I could really care less if anyone thinks I am a ****ty driver, I do not take stupid risks and pointless actions(spinning tires everywhere, racing stoplight to stoplight, etc. etc.)

And my power trip statement came when you stated I would be "moderated" off the site, which I guess you are referring to as banned, which it seems you brought up that statement when it seemed unneccesary.

If you would like, instead of using stereotyping hondas as bad drivers, I will make an effort to use rice instead.

Either way - it's all good. Thanks for the clarification. Don't kill anyone, and I won't moderate anyone.:D

Don't worry about what I like - Worry about how your words (out of context) are perceived by others. Instead of referring to the style or make of the vehicle, how about just identifying the BEHAVIOR of the bad driver, because we can all relate to that much better.

Friends and peers might not respect your driving style, but the rest of us certainly do - Best of luck getting into some advanced driving training. Some PD's will allow civilian participants in their training, and there are several racing schools on the east coast - Best $$$ you'll EVER spend, and (for a car guy) memories that last a lifetime.

trueslide, i can see why you would be dislikin the honda owners becase im sure im seeing what everybody else on the road is seeing, the stereotypical "ricer" driving a honda, but, i think your being a little too biased because im sure if i were to start naming cars that would be considered rice just in my small town , i think every brand of import would be mentioned because everybody does it not just honda drivers, and as much as i hate to say the beloved 240 is some times victim to the rice gen.

Azhitman, i agree that the hating of other cars just becuz of the brand does need to stop, not every honda owner is rice i know that from friendships with honda drivers, and im pretty sure when trueslide said he would kill other honda drivers he wasnt serious, and like i said there is too much biased hate against hondas in particular, but the people i believe are just venting and i understand that but they need to know that it does get annoying hearing the samething about hondas every other posts.

well thats just my point of view from what im seeing, i dont care if someone disagrees with me , thats normal, go ahead and reply if you have somthin different to say cuz since you took time to listen to me ill do the same.

i'm just curious to know what your definiton of a ricer is??? my defintion of a ricer is someone that takes a family car (ie. four door accord, civic or even 2 door civic, or hatch, or a corolla or neon) and try to make them look and sound like a sports/race car. if you already have a sports car such as prelude 240sx eclipse supra and do some of the same things then its alittle more excusable to me. until you start getting into glow lights and euro tails and apc stuff then its rice no matter what you drive.

Just curious to hear your apinions on this.

No offense, canuck, but the rice thing has been beat to death. Do a search.

Honda used to crank out great designs year after year, But since the mid-90's they've embraced BLAND styling and BORING performance... Nissan is DEFINITELY the "800-pound gorilla on crack" these days...

I love HONDA's, but the people that steal them really pissed me off. For all the money that i dumped into that car, I lost it all. I never had any major problem with my old 97 honda civic. It looks beautiful, and new. The only car that i like is 96 up civics, 97 up preludes, S2000, NSX's. That's it. All other hondas should be burnt. I felt in love with 240sx before I own a car. I only test drove it once, and I love it. It's like you can control the car better...a weird feeling. Let's see how my 240sx project will look.
