so i went to a 240 meet yesterday, and i ended up doing work on my car right before we went so i had to ride with a friend who has a type-x 240sx that looks like this but black:



and he just did a 5-speed swap on it, so he is a little new to driving stick and in fact he stalled at a red on the way... since there was traffic on the way back he asked if i could drive...

so were going about 65 in 5th and im talking to my friend, and right at the corner of my eye i see a honda civic rolling aside of me, so i look up and the guy is pointing and saying "wanna go"... The type-x is a stock ka, lowered, and rollin in 5th gear at 65, what am i gunna do?

so i say no and nod my head... so he speeds off and his whole rear suspension is aftermarket and brand new...

why dont honda and acura drivers take it to the track and keep it safe... with all the money we put in our cars, there is too much at stake to be doing stuff like racing on a congested freeway...

I know I get really tempted too. I haven't ran into any all motor street Honda who comes even close. I know because after all their talk("My B16, B18, LS-VTEC, etc kills SR20 all the time"), they failed miserably at the track, even with my stiff coilover suspension. So I avoid them whenever they pull up next to me. It is really tempting and 99% of the time, I'll blow off the situation, but it's harder when it's a domestic, EVO, or STi though. You did the right thing. BTW, it's not just Honda guys either, domestics, Nissans, Mitsu's, Subies, even guys on crotch rockets have all done the same to me.

Last night we decided to go check out a different meet here in Cali. On the way there this evo was trying to race like 6 of us on the freeway the whole way there. So he was doing a ricer fly by once again and I stuck my hand out and gave him a thumbs down and he took that super bad. He followed us to where we were going and was pissed and asking who was driving my car. The guy was just harassing us non stop so finally a buddy grabbed a bat out of his trunk and just told them to leave. The guy then pulled a gun on us.... He then parked a couple spots down the row and just sat there with his lights off. We called the police and he finally left 10 minutes later. What a night.

remember to the general public a type-x could easily be interpreted as rice.

Everyone acts so high and mighty as if no one in the world has ever raced a 240 before. Ridiculous. Who cares if someone tried to race you? You knew you were driving a slow car for one thing, and you took the smart way out. This is a regular occurrence with all different makes.

It has NOTHING to do with the make of the car and EVERYTHING to do with the price of the car and the background of the driver.The cheaper the car is the more people own it.The more people own it the larger diversity and backgrounds of people that drive it.Chances are a cheap car will be owned by some one without money, and chances are people with out money don't have much of an education or are to young and are willing to do these types of things.

I've never ever raced my 240, ever, or my saturn, or my sunfire, or my F250, nope never. The odds are so low that somebody on this forum has never ever done anything illegal on the street are so low it isn't even funny, but more than 50% of the members seem to never have done anything wrong. Keeping in mind that there are alright times to drive it a bit hard but common sense needs to take charge before you do it.

I was driving down one of our main college "strip" roads by my house, that has a bunch of intersections right in a row all with at least 3 lanes so basically perfect for a street race. It was like 1:30 or so and this new cobalt with a fart tube did a ricer fly by. I caught up to him at the next intersection, and he starts revving his engine at me. I look over, and there is a cop waiting to cross the intersection. Being retarded the guy guns it, but due to the syncing of the lights we still ended up at the next light. Once again he revs, and once again there is another cop. He guns it again in front of another cop, and once again we get caught at the next light. I didn't think it could happen, but there was yet another cop, and once again he gunned it. We get to the last intersection of the strip, and he is still trying to race. I'd had enough and this time there was no cop. I let him get a head start, then just absolutely smoked him but slowed down quickly to the speed limit, and of course he does a final ricer fly by. I only had intake and exhaust at the time. What a joke.

Yea, cause you never ever see a 240sx speeding...Everyone speeds, everyone that mods their car has speeded. These threads make me laugh. You know that the OP wanted to get on it and show the Honda something but he didnt because he was driving someone elses car. It is just laughable to think of all these modded 240sx's and not one of you have challenged another car on the highway, or have been challenged on the highway and accepted. Please, dont believe it, not for a second. Your certainly a fool if you think that it is only Hondas out there highway and street racing.

The thing is is that as a whole there are simply just more Hondas out there on the road than 240's, so, of course there will be more of them, although, I doubt most 240 owners are gonna pass up an opportunity to make a Honda owner feel bad, by blowing their doors off.

I find this laughable considering how many guys "drift" their car in parking lots illegally. It happens all the time and people post it on here. Why does everyone say that? I have aftermarket exhaust, pretty loud, and no front license plate. Never been pulled over, EVER.
