Even more than that, it has to do with RPM.
HP = (RPM*TQ)/5250
So you can see that to increase HP, you either increase TQ, or you increase revs.
Most KA's can't rev much over 7000rpm, so we're limited there.
Add another 1000rpm, plus a good flowing head and decent stock cams (that will make power up there), and voila!
