homemade mufflers

I've got a neighbor that is a welder... He built another neighbor's muffler from scratch. It's all stainless, and it makes his little 4cyl ranger sound exceptionally throaty. Since mine has been rattling since I straddled a manhole that was too high, I was considering having one made. I really know absolutely nothing about mufflers... is there anything I should request??

He has an intake, headers and dual exhaust (that he made hisself) on his crown vic and it sounds like a hungry lion. Not to mention that the stainless steel always looks great. He's all about "engine breathability" so I'm sure he'll do it up right.

Uh, he made the muffler, or the exhaust tubing?

yea that'd be some crafty work to make the actual muffler......but if he can for a good price, hell why not

(maybe get him to make you a dozen and you can profit em?)

plus ina world where everyone loves to have ridiculous mufflers it would be nice to have one that no one else has

get him to make you a replica of the Buddy Club

I was thinking of making a replica of the DD since they discontinued them.

that is pretty neat though, welders are great people to have around. i know im getting my uncle to make me the tubing for my exhaust, a downpipe, and engine mounts for my swap this coming march... if i were you, id get one from him though. sounds like a cool idea, nooone else has it :-p

yeah, he makes the the actual muffler. Not sure what the DD or the Buddy Club is, but I'll have to check em out. And yeah, I thought it'd be awesome to have a unique muffler, with its own unique sound.
