Homemade Intake?

I was wanting to make a intake for my car however does the length to the tubing effect the MAF

Length of the tubing? Where were you thinking of putting your intake? I'm not sure the length is as important as location. Keep the filter away from really hot areas of your engine bay.

Supposedly, you want a fairly straight section for about 6" after your MAF. I'm assuming this is so that the airflow is more "laminar" as opposed to turbulent.

I think you're supposed to keep it far away from your TB/Turbo as possible. I'm pretty sure you can keep it close to the filter...that's how most system are designed anyways.

Right, close the filter, but have a straight section behind it.

nah i have a n/a engine was thinking about usen a universal short ram intake kit and put it in place of were the battery would be, and i only need one outlet for vacuum for the iac cause i have no egr on it. I made s13/s14 kade intake to get rid of the butterflies and junk.

well i was still gonna use that part of the old intake its not completely useless, oh and has anyone ever have air leak pass the bleeder on the intake?
