Has anyone thought about or made their own misfire controller like the bee racing one. Thoughts? If you dont recall what this is check this out. zerothread?id=17388

I wondered if this was possible without buying it for 260 + dollars.

it's not a misfiring system. a REAL misfiring system costs more than most folks cars. That's a rev limiter that cuts the ignition instead of fuel. Additionally, a misfiring system will destroy your turbo. Ever consider how it'd feel to do an oil change and a turbo change at the same time if you're lucky?

I understand that it may not be a "real" mis-fire system. Also, I understand how the bee racing system works in theory, thus I was interested in learning if anyone had thought of constructing their own. I understand the risks associated and therefore have not fully committed to putting one on my car. In light of this, I resubmit my earlier question.

shouldn't be too bad to make. you set a trigger on the input voltage from the tach and with that, it should just null the trigger to the ignitor. Not sure what the voltage range is on the tach signal though. How you'd calibrate it would be another problem you'd face.
