Homelink to Something!

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

All,

I've had Homelink in the past a couple of times; never got it to work on my I30 or my G35, but did get my GL450 to work (one of the only things on the car that actually did). Now I'm trying to program my 2008 EX35 to my Chamberlain door opener that was installed in about 2013, and after 5 attempts, I'm getting no where.

It is a rolling code, and as far as I can tell, I've followed the programming instructions. I would just use the remote for the door, had we not managed to misplace 2/3 of them, with the 3rd one remaining in my wife's car.

Anyone have any magic tricks I should know?

Thanks!

Is your remaining remote a full sized remote, or is it a keychain sized one? My Genie garage door opener came with both styles, and I was never able to program HomeLink on my wife's G with the small remotes - only the full sized ones.

Just to be clear...You have to first program the remote to the mirror. Then you have to train the mirror to the garage door opener. I only say that because a lot of people forget that second step.

Since the garage door opener is newer, there is a good chance that the older mirror isnt compatible with the newer opener. Homelink sells a module that help with compatibility. Here is the link. https://secure.homelink.com/homelink-re ... kit-detail

I have a 2008 EX35 with homelink and it does not work with my New Chamberlain Garage door opener.
Although, the Chamberlain box says homlink compatible.

I did some research and found out that I need a repeater or bridge kit for my garage door. (Google garage door repeater kit) I believe I paid $26 for the kit. It comes with one repeater that you plug in to the garage outlet and one wireless remote to use for programming.

This is how you setup the whole thing.

Follow your auto manual on how to delete programmed remote in the rear view mirror homlink.
Ex35 normally press and hold for 20 secs. both homlink bottons at the far ends. Wait till red led light blink faster and stop blinking.

Next is program your repeater remote to the homlink button in the rearview mirror by holding the homlink button you choose in the rearview mirror and at the same time holding the button (large pad) on the repeater remote. Make sure the repeater remote is very close or right next to the rearview mirror. The homelink led in the rearview mirror will blink slower and then faster and turn off for successful pairing.

Next is to push the learning button on your Garage door main control unit connected to the ceiling. You only have 30 secs to program your rearview mirror homlink. So while you are withing that 30 secs programming window, go back inside the car and press and hold the specific rearview mirror homelink button you choose from the beginning. The Main garage door control unit lights will flash twice to confirm a successful pairing or programming of your garage door.

Hope this helps!

Thanks all! In the end I needed to buy an additional remote anyway, I so I just carry it in the car rather than getting the bridge.
