How are people using this? I do not have a garage. and where can i find information about setting it up? By the way, I am new here - just purchased an 07 m35x with 45,000 miles

Are you asking what "Homelink" is used for? If so, it is used instead of a wireless garage door remote. You can program it to open the garage door instead of the remote that came with your opener. If you have no garage door then you likely have no use at this time. However, I have heard that "homelink" can control lights inside a home, but I have never checked that out myself.

The manual says garage doors and entry gates. It brushes over the idea of operating other devices. Whatever that means. It would be cool if you could plug a receiving device into a wall outlet to power on anything in the home.
