Info:

If you have "HomeLink" in your Infiniti, I just learned something. If you have a home security system with a remote keyfob, HomeLink will ONLY work with one system.Unfortunately, it's not mine. (I have "Secure Wireless Evolution Series).

I did learn however, that there is a way to make it work. You have to get a second keyfob, and program it to your system. Then take it with the car to an alarm system technician. He can hardwire the second keyfob into the car to work with the HomeLink. The keyfob must then be concealed somewhere, usually under or inside of the dashboard.

That's a PITA to do, but it looks like that's my only alternative if I want to use the HomeLink setup in my '05 Q45.

Unrelated, but I found a quirk with our G's Homelink mirror. My Genie garage door opener comes with two full sized remotes, and a mini keychain remote. In any case the keychain remote will not work to "teach" the homelink mirror. The fullsized remotes work fine...

That's one thing I wish I could add to my 94, a homelink visor or something.

So your Homelink works okay after being trained by the regular remote?

Can you provide step by step? Neither keychain nor full size remotes will cause my 2002 QX4 to learn from the Genie 3060L.

I am able to get the remotes to relearn, so I know it's the car not the door opener.

I just used the steps in the owner's manual... How old is the Gene 3060L?

If it is a newer garage door opener then you need to use the rolling code instructions instead of the normal training mode. THis means you need to go up to the unit and push the button to get it in training mode. This worked like a champ for me once in about 2000 and never had to reprogram it since.
