So I followed the directions, but it seems like it works sometimes, sometimes not at all. Any of you have experience using this thing with some tips? We just bought a condo, and we have two clickers, but I'd rather use the one that's built in. Thanks for any tips!

Might want to try programing it again. Mine works like a clock.

Does it work everytime with the clicker? If not, it could be the reciever in the unit itself.

I've tried to reporgram it a few times. The owners manual says if the machine was made after 1995 it might have rolling codes and there's some trick to make that work, any idea?

Have to do it exactly correct, and be certain of what type of opener is being programmed.

Of course my wife's is programmed for two houses, neither of which is ours.

I managed to programmed my remote w/ rolling code, but it did took me a long time to figure it out. There are a couple of extra steps in the procedure for rolling code. I can't remember now. If you still need help, I will look it up.

I just tried what the link Qship posted said, to try clicking the remote several times and at different angles, and it did the fast blink confirmation almost right away, so I'll let you know if it worked or not soon, I have to meet the flooring people there shortly.

Its kind of ironic because I just picked up my q45 today and had to phone infiniti for the instructions. If you have a roaming code thingy on your garage opener then you have to hit the "training"button on the garage door opener itself (the motor that opens and closes the door), and then try programing the remote on the visor.

Kevin,

I've been programming quite a lot of garage/gate remote openers into the Y33's Homelink. It somehow learned better when I cleared the codes on the Homelink first (hold 2 outer buttons).

On some remotes, it took several tries before the Homelink was sucessfully programmed. However, all were sucessful.

There was one remote that had its LED turned off a few seconds while the button was still pressed. I had to released and pressed the button again and kept doing that (like every 2 seconds) until the code was programmed into the Homelink. The Homelink was eventually programmed.

Hope this help!

kevin, you following the rolling code instructions, they had to give that to me on a piece of paper at the dealership. Your car should have it if the little house is on the button pad. My 97' didn't come with the rolling code but I convinced the service writer that it wouldn't work with my garage and they just R&R'ed it, thanks you stupid dealership service writers. mine has been rock solid for going on 6 years.

If you are using the right procedures I think you might have a bum homelink.

Duy, I reset it a few times, I also did like the Homelink website says and held the button while I clicked the remote several times at different angles, and the Homelink blinked quickly after just a few seconds. I haven't gone over to the box to try and make it learn, but it did work yesterday, I just had to hold the button for about 20 seconds and the damn door finally opened. The hand held clickers seem to be about the same, so maybe it's the receiver on the motor itself. Thanks for the tips.

hmmm.. maybe you need to replace the battery on your remote. Based on my service record, the previous owner replaced the remote battery a couple years before I got the car.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it runs off the cars power. In any case, it seems to work now, I just have to hold it for a few seconds to make it go.

Yes, there is a two second delay to engage.

Sorry, thought you knew that.

Sounds like it might be time for a new garage door maybe?
