My honest opinion dude, just go buy one pre-made for your car..

There's no point man. Not when a set of Mugen bars for front and back cost less than $70 shipped off ebay. Even less for a generic set.

they did answer his question with the right answer, dont make it yourself. there are sets of them on ebay for like 20bucks, im sure there not very good but there going to be better than anything you make.

no it aint the right answer maybe he is looking to make a custom one i sure would rather have one i built myself instead of a piece off ebay but i guess some people are hands on people and some are im going to buy everything, he asked for a materials list and some suggestions i didnt read anything about him asking where to get some strut bars cheap which im sure he already knew where to get them its pretty obvious i am 100% possitive i could build a strut bar as good as anything on ebay its a pretty simple piece

As far as materials, I'd say aluminum would be the optimal material. You don't want something too heavy. That could be a problem with your MIG welder. Have you ever welded aluminum?

I know we've touched on this, but unless you've got access to all the tools you need, set up cost and materials might end up being more than buying some generic bars.

Still, I'm sure it will be a fun learning experience to fab some up.

the only cheap strut bars are the 2 point ones. 3 point are very expensive, and are probably worth making yourself. of you can convert your two point to a three point yourself, which will not be too hard.

three point? You mean the bars with the firewall brace? They are actually pretty cheap as well, but from what I understand, they don't present much of an advantage over typical strut tower bar. Look at the physics of it, they are made to resist lateral flex, and a little bar that goes back and is screwed into the firewall wont do much to help that.

I've actually seen people just weld a bar between the strut towers and it seems to work just as well as anything you could buy, but you loose clearance to the engine and it becomes a serious problem if you ever have to remove the engine for any reason, or that matter, just the valve cover. Unles you are planning on making something that can bolt on, I would suggest purchasing rather than making your own.
