welll yea its goin to look like crap the first one i made i am using this rubber bond stuff my neighbor gave me to make a second one this is just a rough one and so far as paint and makin my car look nice i dont rele care about

I made mine out of 3/8" plywood. I'm going to spray-paint it black. Does anyone know where I can get some of those brace-like things that are used to support the lip. I don't remember what they are called

I wouldn't blame it on lack of money... more like lack of effort It only cost me $20 including sand paper and paint.

The rain won't warp it as long as you get some kind of laquer /sealer. I'm going to post some pics once I get it painted.

why not get the lip made so when he does get the car painted he doesnt have to paint the lip........plus too much emphasis is put on paint. id be more worried about how the car runs, suspesnion, peformance, then paint. i got my car runnin straight, did the suspension and brakes, then got my car into the low 13's (with lots of room for improvement) in the 1/4 mile, now im gettin close to paint

Being only 16, money is something that I DO lack. If I were you, I would rather just wait until I have enough money to do it right. Just my $0.02

shinned my tires because i had nothing else to do and it looks nicer

and i spray painted my blackies so they look extra clean it looked nicer black because my friends and i sprayed them white and they looked like sh** so i painted them black

If you don't have the money it then don't do it. Simple as that, this hobby isn't cheap, get used to it.
