I thought I would share the results of some rear endlinks that I fabricated today. I had some Racingline rear endlinks, but apparently they didn't like my car because the nuts backed out on both of them leaving me without any endlinks . Nothing fancy but these new endlinks hooked right up making the rear nice and tight...

Um... it looks like it can be snapped in half.

lol...I hope not. They're actually a lot stronger than they look, and I really don't think they're any weaker than the Racingline setup. The rod ends themselves are used by Caterpillar, and although the weld isn't the prettiest, it's quite solid. I didn't want to go back to the stock endlinks so there wasn't much of an alternative.

Are you trying for a a Darwin award?

Seriously the suspension is one part where fabrication of this "quality" really has be wondering what's going on in the world. Do you know anything about metal fatigue and stress points? That's fab of you has it written all over it.

So far so good. After taking it through the canyon twisties, it's holding up better than the Racingline setup. Only time will tell, but I guess should start taking bets for how much longer till they break...

You ground through the welds. It looks like crap. I wouldn't want them on my car, for safety reasons alone.

Hmm. Doesn't look too structurally sound.

Would it be possible to wrap metal around the welds and weld that onto it?

I have no clue about welding and such so sorry if that sounds retarded

By combining what was left of both endlinks, I was able to assemble one whole endlink. On one, the nut fastening the hiem joint to the sway bar came off, on the other the stud going through the adjustable anodized section completely backed out. This probably could've been prevented with the use of some Nylock nuts...

I still need to replace the front endlinks, but I'm not sure how to go about that yet...

Yea, I hope you got another real set. Those weld joints look like they would snap in half during a stressful cold situation.
