Well i just installed my new subwoofer setup. It consists of an optima red top, hifonics brutus bx1500d, and an 12" orion h2 in a sealed enclosure. I built the box myself with 3/4 inch mdf, 1 and 1/2 inch wood screws, and wood glue and caulk at all seams. this box was perfect. so i was all excited, and i1 turned it up about half way and something that i have never seen before happened. one side of the box literally went flying across my trunk. the power of this thing ripped my box apart Hulk Hogan style. well, it loks like ill be in the market for a pre-made box...

Sounds like you needed some bracing in that box. Even with 3/4 MDF... wow.

that's insane man... props to your sub :ylsuper but that box should have withstood that kind of pressure... try rebuilding it, try using LePage Carpenters glue instead of a glue stick and maybe that will work better for ya... :D

I like to use contractor's sub-floor adhesive with #10 size 1 3/4 wood screws. Props on blowing up a box. I remember when I shattered my first rear window!
