Well I tossed the 94 Q45 heads and stuff up on EBAY - and they went ZAP in less than 2 hrs for BUY IT NOW ...

Had been waiting for the buyer to hit me back with a shipping method request - then POOF - the whole auction disapears and I get an email from ebay saying the buyer was a fraud and took over some newbs account!!!

In all the years fo doing ebay - thats one of the weidest Ive seen.

So now Im trippin ... am I and the Q parts a fraud target?

What the hell man....

There's so much fraud going on Ebay now, you gotta be extra careful. For example, I'm always getting second chance offers from the fraudsters. The pretend that an item didn't sell, and try to trick you into buying it from them at a cheap price, when in reality, they don't even own the item. One guy took a pic of my friends boat at his shop and advertised it for sale on Ebay for half the value and tried to sell it. He didn't even own it and the real owner freaked out when he saw the auction.

Buyer Beware!Seller Beware!

Yeah, just send me $1,000.00 to my PayPal account, and I will send you a nice letter saying thanks...

I have not been burned on eBay, yet. Of course, I have bought crap, based on pictures and descriptions and wished I didn't, but no fraud, so far.

The messages section of eBay is the only way to communicate. People get your email and other information off the internet all the time. I send these fraudulent emails to the [email protected] email address all the time. It lets eBay know that these people are out there, and still trying to rip people off.

The old money order trick has been going around ever since Western Union was formed. Ebay just makes it easier to dupe people.

I don't blame eBay. It is just people taking advantage of the freedom to rip people off. That is one of the great things about this country. We have free enterprise. What people don't realize is that freedom is not free, and it is not a right, but a privelidge that can be taken away.

We don't need more regulations, we need more accountability, more responsibility, more integrity, and more honesty.

None of these can be regulated or forced on people. They must be freely given and received. Many of us are taught it at an early age, others learn it as they grow up. Some learn it the hard way, and others just don't ever get it.

Now, back to your regularly scheduled program...

Alas, theres a whole new breed of US Bedwetters trying desperately to create a new Nanny state.

And for those who don't know, you might want to avoid using Paypal on Ebay. You run the risk of losing your parts and your money.

How's that? My money is usually spent from my paypal even before I ship the item? Or transferred to my bank account.

This is how it was explained to me by someone who got stuck.

Paypal is an eBay owned company, and eBay always protects the buyer. Sounds good in theory, but it can be at the sellers expense.

If you want free stuff, just buy it, pay for it via paypal, wait for it to arrive, then claim the item was not as described, or broken, or whatever. Paypal will require the seller to refund the purchase price so long as the buyer provides evidence that the item was shipped back to the seller. All you gotta do is ship a brick back to the seller and submit the shipping receipt as proof.

If you're the seller, and you don't intend to ever do business on eBay or with paypal again, then all you gotta do is clear your paypal account and your bank account. No problem. However, if you want to keep your paypal/eBay accounts active, then you gotta pony up the money, 'cause the buyer is always right.

Lots of other ways to scam people via paypal. Personally, I keep a zero balance in my paypal account. I also have it linked to a bank account that I set up to use only for paypal, and I keep a minimum balance in that account. NEVER LINK PAYPAL TO YOUR MAIN SAVINGS/CHECKING ACCOUNT!

I also made it a point to not have an account with which I can take credit cards (premier & business accounts). If you're running an actual business, then you might just write off an isolated incident of fraud as the cost of doing business. I don't do enough that I'm willing to take that risk.

NOT TRUE

The buyer isn't always protected by ebay or paypal and that's a fact! Ebay has personally screwed me over 4 times when sellers sent me a box of nothing! I went through so very much crap with both ebay and paypal only to be told by them that I would not be getting my money back. Long stories but true. They make you jump through hoops and you are not protected by Ebay or Paypal from some ebay sellers at all,... even if you used paypal if the seller doesn't have enough feedback. 4 times I got burned by ebay and only once did I get money back from paypal. That makes 1 time out of 5 or 6 that I was protected.

So be carefull with ebay and paypal. Watch out for sellers who delay didputes with you for longer than 45 days as well because after that you won't get your money back either. The time limit thing is a biggie for the pros of fraud.
