Basically what ca18det_boy said. I'm just a big slooty postwhore. I was in a weird mood yesterday. I'm going to try and refrain from doing that again for at least a month or so. JK!

dude I HAVE to go underground for a while. My poor baby's not doing so hot. I"m trying to stay off the highways if I can. Thats when the oiling is pretty bad. As long as I don't get on it intown, it does OK, but those higher revs on the highway for long periods of time and it just spews oil. It sucks!

isn't that what the PCV valve is for? that was one thing I never had any idea of its function, what the **** does a PCV do?

Yea, this kinda what it does, and that was my thought as to what was wrong. But since mine has a brand new on in there, Thats not it. As for the function of the PCV valve, here it how it works, to my understanding anyway;

When the manifold is under a vacuum (off boost) the valve opens and allows the crankcase fumes, oil's and moisture to be sucked into the intake manifold and burned. When the motor comes into boost the valve closes and all of the gasses and such are then routed to the suction side of the turbo. That is why I put my catchcan between the valve cover and the turbo because at higher revs where you're going to be getting the most blowby (regardless of what shape the motor is in) the gasses are routed to the turbo, so I put my catchcan inline there to catch that excess oil and moisture that would normally go into the turbo.

couldnt you, in theory, rout both the vacuum and boost from the pcv into the catch can? or would you need 2? maybe im retarded..

Hey Ryan, your understanding is correct to a certain degree. It does open under vacuum, However it applies to any vehicle not just vehicles under boost. I am certain that you already knew that, just left it out in your previous comment.

Who, what did I miss here? First of all, yes I'll get it fixed, I just don't have money pouring out of my ears, and secondly Aaron, does this mean you're not going to florida?

Nah this is the part that's jacked up. I still have to go to Florida and try to find another car. If I don't go then that means I will be out $600 excluding the deposit that I put on it. If I can get the guy to give me my deposit back then I would only be out $400. So reguardless of if I go or not I will still be out some dough. So I am just doing my best to find another car in that area. I found a coupe in miami beach, but I really want a fastback. I guess worst case scenerio I could just get the coupe drive it back and sell it. Anyways D looked at it and wasn't all too pleased with it. Plus the guys that I have been dealing with are saying that its in great condition. The worst part about it......I can't even call the guy and BIT*$ at him because then he really won't give me back my deposit plus I would be stranded in Florida at the airport.......yeah

I'd just wait for him at the airport. When he brings the car out, look at it and say exictedly, "Wow! Thats a peice of schit!" Then slap him like the hoe he is and say in your most ghetto accent, "Gimmie my money!". Works for me every time.
