SOO I want to run either a HX35 or HY35 but am unsure which on will benifit me more in the long run. Also are the holsets direct bolt on? if not what has to be done to make these turbos run on the rb20.. your help is greatly appreciated

im not too sure. i would think that it would fit the stock mani, but the wastegate deffinately wouldnt.. i would get a new manifold.. plus the wastegate is set for around 21psi i believe so youd be better off getting a 60-1 and calling it a day.

that is correct except for weld the flap shut. and make a flange on your manifold for the tial. id go 38mm.

you might try the same place he got his done at. or i could sell you a stock manifold for $50 and you could hack it up and not be worrying about damaging yours if it were to crack.

also search nico for holset. a lot of good info on that search. only do the ones pertaining to RB forums though or you wont get what your looking for.

lol. If you can get bigger injectors get bigger. I'm running 800cc's on mine for 1billion JDM horses.

Newb, you're forgetting about JDM to USDM HP conversion rates. He only needs the 720cc's for 1.27 bazillion usdm hp.

haha...you might want to search... there are plenty of threads that give details on what has to be done. If i remember right there is some custom stuff like welding that has to be done. I went with a 60-1 and love it. After building my car ,if you cut corners and that part is complete you only save a couple of hundred for something that is thrown together. Just my 2 cents

yea if you dont have enough money to do turbo, tap for an external wastegate, buy a wastegate, buy new injectors, than just go buy a 60-1 and get new injectors.. mott is right. Holset is for the DIYer

Custom oil feed and return lines...Converting internal to external wastegate...welding an external to stock mani...custom exhaust work...

Hardly for a newb that doesn't even know what size injectors to run.

/thread please.. he needs to search.

Lets see when you can search instead of asking questions that get answered all the time then you wont get "bull****" You started off asking the difficulty on putting a holset turbo on your car which turned into another question everyone is tired of answering. Hence, the reason why you get smart*** answers, If you can handle that then you are on the wrong forum....
