I took my Q there today and I was disappointed to say the least. I couldn't get a service history. The man behind the desk said that he couldn't go any farther than 10 years. He asked me what dealership it came from, and I told him that it was originally purchased in NY and that I'm the second owner (excluding the time it spent at the dealership where I acquired it.).
Is there any way to retrieve this information or is it safe to assume that the P.O. was a complete jackeen and didn't have the car serviced at the dealership? I wouldn't know which dealership in NY to start at.
I'm waiting on a phone call from Keith Van Meter so I can schedule a complete top to bottom inspection and diagnostic. I want to take all of the detected problems and compile them into a "To-do list" so I know exactly where I am with this car. I'm tired of playing the guessing game with the FSM and the search feature.
I passed someone on the Turnpike last night and after decelerating I smelled ATF. The windows were all rolled up, so it wasn't some sort of fluke smell, you know? I checked for leaks after I parked in the driveway, but the driveway was wet and it was dark. Ran some errands today and I checked for leaks in the parking lot. I popped the hood and checked my level. It was fine, the ATF was a beautiful pink. Smelled fine. When I walk past the car after it's been turned off, I catch a whiff of ATF around the middle of the car. I guess right around the pillar area.
Transmission diagnostic checks out fine, and I've been studying the AT section of the FSM. I'm at a loss right now. Hopefully Keith can help me. I don't care what it costs, I'll gladly pay for the diagnosis and trouble list. (Though I'd rather not spend more than $500 for a detailed summary of the car.)
Gah. Anyone with any experience with a problem like this, please let me know. Something. Anything.
