i just took off my stock spoiler, ya know the foam one, well the four grommets that are on the end of the spoiler were rusted so all i had to do was pull up and they broke off, the other four screws i took off and it's pretty heavy, there's no rust on the hatch itself except for maybe a few tiny bubbles, and there's some surface rust that i can just take off with some rubbing and scrubbing, now to the important question, there are 10 holes in my hatch, what should i do about it?

Bondo sand and repaint. Or if you wanna be ghetto with it, duct tape or JBweld.

i had big holes from rust. this is what i did. take off the trim on the inside so you can get underneath the metal. i took some sheet metal cut big enough to cover the hole from underneath, then used a welder to fill in the hole. mig would work pretty good. if you cant get it welded use jb weld to hold the plate to the back and then fill in the depressions with bondo. obviously the pure metal route is better, but whatever works, works. lesson for me was to take my time with the sanding and finishing.
