Has anyone ever seen a hole appear in a garrett gt2860r turbo before? about two weeks i was driving my 240sx w/ s13 sr gt2860r and the turbo started making a bad rubbing/grinding noise. as if one of the ball bearings was missing. i finally got around to taking off hte turbo and manifold today and noticed a hole the size of a flat head screw driver tip between the oil drain and the water line. the turbo is only a year old at best but useless to me now. has anyone seen this happen before?

Its not a hole in the turboits part of the casting from when the drilled and taped the threads for the oil return flange.Look on the other side im sure you will see another hole just like it

Check for shaft play on the compessor wheel for turnine wheel/housing contact

there is an identical hole on the other side and the turbine is not hitting the housing that i can see/hear although there is a little shaft play and it sounds as though it has bad bearings. it used to be very quiet + also my car will not run right with this turbo on anymore. i suppose i have to get it replaced....?

unless you can find one used, order another new center section, should be about half the price of the turbo new
