This was my engine before the pucks, laughing at me: :rotfl

I know it's been talked about before, but I wanted to add my experience to the world of motor mounts. Many people change mounts to raise or lower their motor. Others, like me, have engines that like to lean with it and rock with it (I apologize for the out-of-date, cheezy reference). Either way, replacements are a little pricey. So, I looked into my options. I considered the Nismos, and may still get them in time. But they cost a little too much right now, and I wanted to get my mounts in asap. I wasn't going back to OE mounts. I also considered the Flexane DIY mounts found on 240sxtech. Again, I didn't want to wait for the materials to arrive from McMaster-Carr and then have to wait for the mounts to cure. So, I read up on pucks. Now, I've gotten some funny looks from a few guys when I mentioned pucks. A lot of people are skeptical about their properties. But hockey pucks are made with natural vulcanized rubber mixed with carbon fillers. Sounds like a good choice to me. Plus, they're hard as f***! So I went around Tallahassee, FL looking for them. If you've been here, you might know this isn't a place where hockey is popular... So I ordered four pucks from snipersedge. My official regulation weight pucks arrived yesterday while I was at work. When I got home, I drilled some 1/2 inch holes through them and mounted them with Grade 8.8 M10x1.25 bolts and a variety of washers.

If you're doing this, be ready for the noise. My car sounds like an old school bus! The vibration is a lot more than i expected, but I don't mind. Actually, it's a good way to get in touch with the status of your motor. The big shock was how hard it was to drive the car. I found a different clutch/throttle relationship waiting for me on the test drive. But man, if your car had a lag before as the engine rolled belly-up, it won't anymore. Once you re-learn your foot control, the car really lays down whatever power it has.

Next up: fuel pump. If you've got low fuel pressure like I do, stay tuned.

Plus: when I eventually get my Nismos, I'll compare them to the Flexanes and pucks.

That honestly depends on taste. Like I said, I don't mind the vibes I get from my KA. The pucks are great for response and power transmission.

I just got my beater 240 running last weekend and was in a similar situation to you. I had the motor down in the bay, and was getting it stabbed when the POS stock mount ripped right in half. I bought some hardware and 5 hockey pucks (cut one down the middle to keep the height the same on each side, and it sits as it did OEM) and threw them on there. I have been driving it this week as a shakedown before track events and I love the feel. I don't mind the vibrations, a smooth ride is what the DD is for... Not that I wouldn't daily the pucks.
You are right about the throttle feel, totally more snap response from the motor now.

I've thought about taking this route with my sr, but taking into consideration that my car is a dd and also how rough the road are around here, it would make driving miserable for me. Great information though!

The vibes are only kinda bad when you are at idle. At speed you don't really feel it too much.
