What is your opinion on using hockey pucks for mounts, rather than like mckinney or ruckus mounts or even swapping the skyline crossmember?

Are you talking aobut hockey puck mounts with no conversion kit? Because that wouldnt be possible at all. If your talking about hockey pucks instead of rubber isolators, yea it would probally work.

Do yourself a favor and make your own mounts and brackets. I used Mckinney Mounts and yes they fit but they were a PITA to get lined up and bolted down. I actually cut the old subframe out and welded the Mckinney ones in so they fit right.

I can make urethane isolators any thickness you want. Let me know if you need something other than hockey pucks eh

I have them. My Combo: McKinney motor mounts with hockey pucks as isolators on an S14 cross member. Ive never seen an RB sit lower than mine. Most those using R33 CM's seem to Visually have real high sitting motors.

Reason I have what I have is because I bought the McKinney mounts used and they had no isolators. I ordered the transmission isolator direct from McKinney but choose to use the hockey pucks on the motor mounts.

Just watch your sway bar clearance, mine just grazes the oil pan enough to remove the paint but not enough to dent, or remove any metal. Putting washers on the sway bar mounts as soon as I get to a lift again.

yea theres several people i know that use them but im a big perfectionist and i dont like the fact of using "hockey pucks" but lots of people say good things about them but i was thinking about using the ruckus mounts since i can use the factory style mounts with it but im just not sure how i want to mount it up, im gonna look into the mckinney solid isolators.

You cant use ruckus mounts and hockey pucks. You have to use something that is about as thick as the stock mounts or it will sit on the crossmember. Trust me ive tried. Had it lowered in there ready to bolt up and it sat on the crossmember. PITA so dont try it

just modify your xmember if you have access to fab equip.no reason to buy a kit if you're just gonna modify it anyways.besides 90% of the mount kits out there suck imho, nothing will beat the rigidity of the stock xmember or one modified to support the engine properly.
