yup im ressurecting this, once again! haha

i've been thinking about doing this again, probably next summer when i pull the engine again to change the clutch and some other things. but heres my question...

my friend has the Syko Performance RB25 mounts in his S13, aren't those basically "stiffer" motor mounts? im wondering because if hockey pucks are basically the same as just NISMO motor mounts, im going to do it..it can't be any worse than riding with stiff coilovers right? haha!

I tried the window weld trick and it still wasnt stiff enough for me.

I am going to be doing the "puck" trick here in a week or two. I will be going for the lowest center of gravity so I will post up if you can do 2 pucks in a s13.

using 2.5 pucks on each side still makes the motor sit on its "angle" right?

couple days old but want to input what i am running again, still have the pucks in my car, im running 2 of them not 2.5, i also have a couple of thick washers on them, it really does like to vibrate and you will find anything that is even slightly loose in your car.... but my motor doesnt move at all, ever.... and it does have about an inch of space over the steering rack and crossmember, so no issues there...

call me ignorant, but surely the use of these pucks is pointless.

Running a single bolt through the mount from engine to crossmember means there is no isolation between the 2 bolting faces. Thus it is infact a solid mounting, no dampening at all. Using a solid spacer material would make more sense.

There is no "basically the same" between this pucked mounting to a nismo item

i took the nuts from my stock mounts and went to home depot, searched for 2 bolts with the same threads and the proper length to go through 2 hockey pucks and a bit of metal, then i got some washers that also fit, get 2 large flat washers per side, maybe 3 if you want it to ride a little more level then 2 small washers for the ends of the bolt. I didnt use american bolts like some people because I dont drive an american car.... but hey whatever you want to use as long as it can handle the stress, And i do believe that the dampening material in between does help even if the bolt is holding the two pieces together the rubber does help dampen the vibration.... slightly... I drilled the hole so that the bolt was snug when pushed through, couldnt tell you the size it was over a year ago....

Hi I live in Cyprus I have a 200sx s13 with a big hybrid t3/t4 top mount turbo. with the stock engine mounts there is 5mm clearance on the cold side of my turbo.
I needed minimum engine movement so I went for Hockey Puck mounts there is no such thing as hockey here..lol
I got the gear from Ebay.
the only problem is my girlfriend is thin and she does not want to loose any more weight. THE CAR SHAKES LIKE s***!! AFTER THE HOCKEY PUCK MOD...WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY!!

I have hockey puck mounts on my KA and the vibration is more than OEM but less than solid mounts, I cant say I ever thought it vibrated too much. Going the same route with my CA, upping to 2.5 pucks instead of 2 like on the KA.

@Cyberdog, what does your girlfriends weight have to do with your mounts?
