Hello there most of the early 200sx's came with L20B motors and the Z series motors. up until 1984 I beleive, then they came with the CA series motors. The L20B and Z series motors were similar in block design, but had a different head. The L20B head was great for NA application, as it lent itself well to porting, polishing, and biiiig hairy cams! and L20B head WILL bolt straight onto a Z series block. Just ask ANY 510 guy, there are plenty of sites out there. The Z series heads were more for emissions than performance, sure they are crossflow as opposed to the L series sideflow, but they have low port angles, and if you put big cams in them with big lift, the valves will hit eachother!! ANd not to mention you really can't go too crazy with the porting and polishing. the early 200sx's had a 4 link solid axle rear suspension in the back, wich handled decent but really lent istelfto drag raging. Not sure on teh fronts tho. Hope this helps!
