I'm painting my car this winter, and after a long search I finally found the color I want. It's on the new (ish?) Lexus IS300's, it's like a really really dark grey (almost black from a distance), but it's got a cool metalic flake in it. It's really nice. I think it's called Mica Grey. Check it out if you want.

or atleast shoot the engine bay in a flat or semi gloss black so it won't clash with the color you opt for.

I painted my car Sapphire Blue Metallic(mercedes color). And it looks really good on my 240. Everyone that see's my car compliments on the color. It looks like a deep purple at night too, which is kind of cool. I can get a pic if you want to see it. Just an idea.

Im gonna probably just paint the engine bay black while the engine is out of if i can figure a color out soon ill paint it the same as the car.Hey fiznat, ur 240 in the sig is the exact car i have, cool, same color and everything

Just click the website thing under my name and it will take you to my webpage on my car with a few pics. It's a really nice color. I don't have any pics when it's getting dark, but it looks like a very dark blue/purple.

I chose to get the lamborghini gigrio avalon grey, but i looked into both the mica and nimbus, its just my gigrio had more flakes in it. the reason for grey was to match my cf hood, and it did it perfectly. i highly suggest either of those greys as i get complimented on mine a hell of alot for just the paint, especiall if you want a cf hood. also I really like the idea of a deep royal dark blue with red pearl in it, it wouldve been my second choice for my car. either way, good luck with whatever you decide to use.

oh yeah, paint job cost 2k with prep and everything
