Whats up guys? well I got around to taking out my clutch on my CA today and see what it looks like and I pull out what appears to be a 3 puck racing clutch w/ writing of "Kayaba" on it. Im guessing I should be a little worried as far as engine abuse but Im in a way a little happy on another front b/c the guy who had it might have put some cams in it as well (well at least I'd like to think) b/c the cams are incredibly very shiny.... Is there anyway to tell whether they're aftermarket??

oh yea also about the clutch.... it has 4 springs in it, all of them are stiff except for one which has a very tiny amount of play in it. It doesnt look too too bad, I've been debating on whether or not I should use it b/c it looks pretty bad ***. As far as the pads on it they still have a little bit of groove left and about a 1/4 inch thick... what do you guys think?

Also, Will the KA pressure plate work in place of the CA one, the one thats on mine looks a little bent

take it easy

yea I'll see what I can do, ooh yea I think I might have a lightened flywheel as well, The thing looks brand new all shiny and everything, If you see the picture in sport compact car in the SR issue of may when it has the 2 flywheels next to each other it looks exactly like the Chromoly Toda racing flywheel, but Im not sure what kind it might be, im gonna take it off today and weigh it on a scale.

So as far as the pressure plate, would a stock one on a KA work for it, or is the pressure plate thats on there supposed to have like a little wave on the prongs going in a circle?

i'll try to work on those pics though.

Yea, if the entire flywheel looks nice and shiny then its aftermarket. The factory one will look like crap except for where the clutch engages on it.

well might not be that sweet if the crank bearings are worn and the rings arent sealing and the motor is about to die

or there's chunks of steel in your cylinders, you intake manifold, your valves, your turbo...are you planning on pulling your head? I would strongly suggest it now...just pull it and replace the head gasket...100000X easier with the engine outta the car...believe me. It would have been easier to pull the engine and then the head than to do what I did and pull just the head!
