Good body, good engine, 4 spd. trans., needs interior work. Black/black. Asking $1000

no pictures...would the 4 spd tranny be auto or manual?

I don't know much about these cars but is this a good deal?

ummm i'm pretty sure its an auto since i was interested in putting a 280Z tranny in my 240 and the 280Z manual tranny five speed. so i woudnt get a auto if you pan on doing an mods cuz manuals are quicker and just more fun.

umm, you are very wrong sir. all aouto trannys were 3 speeds up to 1983. and the 5 speed did not come out until 1978.

no i'm not wrong cuz i go to a mechanic who has been working on all generations of Z's for the past 20 years and he says that the 280Z came with a 5-speed manual. and if still dont believe me to here http://www.collectorcartradero....html select datsun for make and 280Z for model, 100 something people cant be wrong. anyways back to the guy who is asking if its a good deal. if its in good condition body and engine and most/ all mechanical parts function correctly, yes its totally worth it, but only get it if you want an auto. autos are easier to deal with, no clutch and its easier to drive in traffic.

hahaha he's asking for a 75, not a 78. plus 280Z's only went from 75 to 78. 280ZX's went from 79 to 83.

like i said go to that web page and you'll find other 280Z years with a 5-spd. it didnt come out until 76 is what i'm finding so then it is an manual. we were both right and wrong i guess. sorry.

The problem with the internet is everyone gets to be an expert.

I am finding fewer and fewer 240, 260, and 280 Zcars that have not been modified with aftermarket parts and parts from other years. If you didn't know what was supposed to be there, you would be hard pressed to ID the original parts. Probably a quarter of the 240Zs on the road now have 5-speeds.

............:help

The 280Z didnt recieve a 5spd manual until 1977. Up until then it was a 4spd manual. The only automatic offered in the 280Z was a 3spd. Check HERE if you have any doubts.....which Im sure you will.
