Ok, it ran great except the power loss near the 4k range..

I used a friends dremel to clean out the coil packs and now I get sputtering on idle... (I did drop one of the back accidentally... but that one is on cylinder 1 and if I unplug it while the car is running, it is slightly noticeable...)

So, now when I rev it up, it sounds like a cylinder isnt firing properly... weird.... debugging time...

But, that wasnt really my question, my real quick today is... when I pulled into the garage, I popped the hood.. I noticed some smoke (very light whiteish and not that dense but there....) coming from the rear of the engine bay...

I can not tell exactly where it is coming from, except that is was coming from both sides and the back... what could this be?

Yeah sounds like coolant, agreed with Kamin.

There is a water line that passes behind the head for the turbo if memory serves (and it may not).

Ok, it is official!!!

My dumb *** self, forgot to plug that 1 coil pack in (Or it came undone on the cobblestone downtown!!!!!!!) and that was causing the slight sputtering, and possibly the smoking too since fuel fumes mustve been let out of the valves towards the exhaust then heated up... not sure why it wouldve smoked at the rear of the engine though since that exhaust is 100% sealed

So, the rb20 runs like a champ now, it is at about 95%

Only things left to do is replace the springs for the 6 coil packs (where can I get these? - will post a new thread for this too)

Get power steering working (I need to make custom lines, too expensive for right now)

Get my tach working - will do that right now :-)

I got a set of 6 coilpacks, let me know what you need

you could use the spring out of a ball point pen..

Really?

I was thinking about that but I didnt think they were big enough...

Because I am still getting hesitation!!!!

Power is perfect when cold, when hot I get sputtering meaning 1 cylinder isnt always firing... Coil pack most likely since it only happens when hot!

:-(
