Alright, so as all of you might remember, i've just recently had a new clutch installed in my car, and lately, i've noticed that while using the clutch pedal a lot, the clutch pedal seems to become softer. . .

Sometimes it feels normal (very nice and stiff), and at other times it gets softer. So I just went outside, and popped the cap off the clutch master cylinder, and guess what I found. . . The fluid was completely dirty, dark and nasty looking. Seems like the mechanic I took my car to used the same fluids that was found in my car when I brought it in.

So my question goes as follows, is it possible that extremely dirty clutch fluids can cause the symptoms i'm experiencing with my clutch pedal?

Because I know that if brake/clutch fluids sit in the open for too long, it will go bad quick from the exposure of oxygen (and I think that's what happened to the fluid before they put it back into my car).

Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Try a drain fill and bleed. Could be a slight leak in the MC / slave. Use a synthetic DOT 4 or higher

Oh and if the clutch line is close to the header / downpipe it can burn the fluid. IF this is the case wrap that area of the pipe.
