Some guy on Craigslist is selling a 1993 240sx that is in excellent condition. But here lies the problem. . . It's an automatic. I really want a standard 5 speed 240sx, but this car seems too good to pass up. What do you guys think?

http://vancouver.en.craigslist....html

For the Americans out here :P it has 101,283 miles, and it costs, $3,307.00 USD... But as you can tell, the vehicle is in perfect condition, zero rust etc, etc, etc.

But when you think about it, I can always do a conversion, but that would cost quite a lot, and i'd rather just get a standard 5 speed right off the line. But still, the car itself is perfect, and it seems wise to get it (due to the fact that it appears to be in good condition), and to mention, bone stock :P

So what do you guys think? Should I get it, and in a few years, do a conversion, or should I just get a crappier 240sx which is already a standard?

Let me know, help would be greatly appreciated.

Really? I was thinking of offering him $3200 (CAD) :P $500 off, you think that sounds pretty reasonable for the car? Or should I drop it to 3000$?

Yea, the paint looks amazing, but I (personal opinion) HATE the brown interior.

It does have Hicas which some people like, some hate. But that means it has a Viscous LSD, which is good but not that great.

Id probably pay $2800-3000 for it. Seems like a very nice car. Id grab it if I were you. Its so much nicer to work on a clean car. Maybe try to talk him down to 2500 because it is an auto...

Yea, for myself, I don't mind the brown interior (I actually think it looks pretty good), and yea, i'm looking for a 240 with HICAS. But too bad, I doubt he would let it go for $2500-3000. People in BC are extremely cheap like that... In your opinion, what should be the maximum amount of money I should pay for this vehicle?

STILL that price is steep... judgin fro this thread u can tell you REALLY want it but even 3000 is too much unless its worth 3000 to you.. cuz if you would be happy w/ it thats all that matters

Well I understand what you're trying to say, but where I live (british Columbia), the prices for 240's in this condition, is about the same price. It's just really expensive... If I do manage to drop it to $3000 CAD, that would be a pretty good deal, but too bad you guys are still saying it's a rip off... But to me, it seems that it may be worth it for $3000 CAD. I'll see, I can try to offer him $2500, and then work our way up to about $3000.

Hmm, I wonder how much horsepower I'm missing with an automatic compared to a standard? Maybe 8-10 HP?

They suck for parts and they blow for left turns. Seen soo many get totalled during left turns.
