My coworker went to Japan to test drive the first production model of the new GT-R. Several of us here are Vert lovers (We are in L.A.) and the new body looks like an awesome candidate for a soft top!

I highly doubt it. Nissan is barely pushing any considerable numbers of the hard top, there's no way they'll bother chopping off the roof.

There is a guy I know here in my town that already placed his order for a GT-R. The dealership told him they could not promise him what color he would get but of course he doesn't care. Soon as he gets it he told me I could drive it and get some pics of it, so be looking for them. Dude cashed in his 401k for this ride...lol. I thought I was a car lover.

It would look awesome tho..... The only way it will happen is if some rich bastard buys the new GTR and gets the crazy idea of chopping the top off and reinforcing EVERYTHING. then you have 1 GTR vert..... it would be as well as .. but yea it will never happen.....

Ya, I dont think it will happen eighter, specially with close to 500 hp under the hood. The chasis would need alot of braces that would make it heavy for a muscle car.

Well I never said they would build, but the chassis reinforcement would be the easy part for me. I build 170mph F1 side hacks chassis that weigh less then the engine and tires. The hard part is pulling a loan out for 85k!

Well I parked a maserati the other night... How much is it worth at the chop shop minus the brakes and engine that I want lol.

Just get the G37 Vert possibly coming out this year. Hard top vert. Not sure how the body would flow as a Vert. Hmm, any photoshop guru's out there want to take a stab at it?
