Post

After months of deliberation, I have decided that I might go turbo on my KA, and I was wondering if it were possible to leave the stock S14 radiator if I ran an oil cooler, and a lower temp thermostat?

Also, this is what I might be running for my KA-T setup (local guy is selling this setup, all of it has under 2000 km's of use), I need your guy's opinion on how good it would be, and how reliable it would turn out.

* Enthalpy tuned ecu (94 octane required)

(injectors were redone to 425cc)

* Tomei FPR/Tomei fuel rail adapter and fitting with goodridge ss braided lines and earls -an fittings ( set at 49.5psi )

* new bosch o2 sensor

Turbine Specs :
1.850" Exducer
Turbine .86 A.R.
2.090" or 53.10mm Major

* turbo to intake adapter

* SS autochrome Front mount intercooler 30.5"x 12"x 3" (core measures 23"x12"x3")
* Togue Factory Sr20det Hotpipe for greddy bov slightly modded to fit for KA. 2.25" hot pipe to intercooler , 3" cold pipe into the intake manifold
* Greddy RZ BOV
*SS bottom mount style turbo manifold (no brand)
*SS 3" turbo elbow (no brand)
*SS 3" downpipe (no brand)

* -3an ss braided turbo oil line with -an adapters ( feed comes from oil pressure sensor location )
* greddy oil cooler adapter with thermostat
* goodridge -10an oil lines with goodridge and earls -10an fittings
* 13 row oil cooler

Help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

I personally don't like those skinny alu and plastic rads if you are going turbo. I'm not saying it won't work with those supporting mods but a nice dual pass is good insurance or a nice copper rad.

As long as the tune it good it sounds like a beast turbo setup.

Get a bada$$ aluminum radiator with some cooling fans. I don't know where you live but in Texas you can't be bsing around with the heat. Good insurance for the engine.

A larger radiator can dissipate more heat because of its size, but if your oem radiator is in good condition, and you have the clutch fan and shroud, you'll be fine. An oil cooler, like mentioned, would be very beneficial also.
