As you guys all know, I just got wheels, and they are quite a bit heavier than the stock OEM wheels that I had before. . . So while safely getting the car sideways today, I noticed it takes much more power to get the rear end loose, so I was thinking of using a different setup to help my stock KA get the rears spinning easily.

Anyways this is the tire setup that I currently have for the aftermarket rims (17x9 +15).

Front: 215/45/17 with about 50% tread left.

Rear: 225/45/17 equipped with brand new tires.

My OEM stock wheels is as follows. . .

Front: 205/60/15 with 95% left

Rear: 205/60/15 with 30% left

So I was thinking of putting the 205's in the rears, and putting either the 215's or the 225's in the front.

But the thing that confuses me is. . . Since the rims are heavier, and the tires are wider up front, and the rear tires are narrow and lighter, would it cause massive oversteer?

I would leave the 205's in the front and rear, but the fronts usually understeers quite a bit in the rain while drifting at higher speeds.

So knowing my tires and rim sizes etc, what would be the best setup to help get my car sideways easily, and help keep out any understeer in the front?

Help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

LOL
You put 215s on a 9 inch wide wheel.
Put on good tires that are a bit wider and your understeering should be lessened.

Swapping your front and rear tires shouldn't make your oversteering that bad though, I'm sure you'll get used to any changes you feel.

I didn't put the 215's on the front, the previous owner did. . . He likes them stretched wheels.

But this thread was just to inquire on the setup I was thinking of. I just wanted to make sure that my desires would be met with 205's in the rear (to help get the rears spinning easily), and 215's-225's in the front (reduce understeer due to the wider tires compared to the OEM 205's).

Thanks Razi, now I just need to do it, and figure out the best setup for the front, either 215's or 225's.

I think so.
Since you have the tires, you could try it out haha.

Here's a funny video of mounting tires yourself. :P

I wouldn't recommend this though, you'll probably scratch your wheels haha.
