Today while driving, I turned the fan on to clear up some condensation, and after a while. . I noticed there was nothing coming out. . . When I go on any setting (1-4), the rpm's go up like it usually does, but no air comes out. Even the Air conditioning doesn't come through the vents etc.

I checked both of the blower motor fuses, and they're fine. I also checked for anything clogging the vents by the engine bay, and there's a little bit of minor stuff, but nothing that can stop the flow. So what might be the problem?

I'm guessing the blower motor is dead, but I could be wrong. Is there any good ways in troubleshooting a dead blower motor?

Help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

Umm. . Well . . . I don't really know. . . I just remembered a few seconds ago that while I was driving in the last 2 days or so, every time i put the heater on, there was this very quiet but noticeable clicking sound. . .

And yea, now it doesn't work, so was that clicking sound the motor dying out slowly?

that clicking may have been some 15 yr old plastic fins disenigrating... i may be totally off but from what your describing it sounds like you still feel or hear sound/ motion from the motor but sounds/ feels different? that would indicate the motor itself still works but the blower it turns might be snapped, cracked, disconnected. try taking the blower motor itself apart from underneath and looking into it, trying to spin it with your hands manually.

edit: whos that in your av? kurt cobain? lol

Hmm, from what you've said so far, I'll need to take it apart and check both the motor and the blower fins. But yea, I think the motor is dead because I hear the engine rpm's going up, but I hear nothing else coming from the inside.

Yea that's Kurt Cobain. May he rest in piece.

Why is it a bitsch to replace the motor? What are some of the stuff that makes it extremely difficult?

well for one its under the dash, youll have to remove it (annoying process for s13s anyway) then the HVAC system is all tied in together. there will be LOTS of hidden screws and bolts that will have you thinking youve got it off but theres like 73 more screws from the back that you cant see. i digress lol but it will be a pain in the a$$ for even someone like me whos constantly removing my interior for random impulsive reasons.

I'm hoping to god the S14 is much much easier than the S13 in terms of getting to the blower motor. . .
