Well, I was driving on the Interstate today and had cause to rev my Versa up to pass this drunk *** psych weaving all over, and I felt a minor shift thump when it reved down. When I test drove the CVT versa at my dealer ship and revved it the same, I got no shock...and I did buy a CVT, atleast, thats what they told me, and that's what was on the sticker..

Thoughts?

Even a CVT isn't immune to thumps and bumps if you romp on it. It has to reconfigure the pulleys, and it's possible that when it did so, you experienced something similar to a jamming downshift on an automatic.

Mine thumped once, when I first got it. I was backing out, threw it in drive and took out fast. It hestated a bit then thumped and off we went. I realized I'd probably driven like that all my life. Now, I wait for the Versa to come to a complete stop before I put it in drive and no more thump.
