I currently have Z31 T3 turbo. It's small, spool GREAT.

But little too small for my goal. my goal is 300 crank hp. (Final goal, no more)

I've been looking for a turbo with easy 300hp, minimum lag, has internal wastegate, and Affordable.

I was thinking about GT28 from S15. Ball bearing, easy spool up, bigger, but $650 price tag was little too much for me.

So I was thinkig about T3/T04 hybrid, but problem is, it's hard to find internal wastegate. The reason i want to stick with internal is to keep my budget low and little safer.

What other turbo should i look for

A Z31 turbo will do 300 crank HP

If you want the same package (T3, internal gate) the only affordable and viable option is the T3 Super 60, or looking into something like a GN turbo, but I don't know the specs on the GN turbo's.

yes. but it's MAX. I wanted little bigger turbo because maxing out the turbo all the time, i thought it's not good for turbo.

A GT28 is not a good idea, it has a T25 flange (meaning it won't fit your manifold) and it will be maxed out as well.

A T04E / T3 46 - 50 Trim with a small exhaust side A/R (~.48) would be your best bet in terms of optimal and cheap. However you will need to go external gate and refab the 02 housing.

You can go with a T3 Super 60 like I mentioned and stick to what you have and have a better turbo setup.

You can get an RB25 T28 and it will fit similar to the Z31 turbo.

NismoFreak ~ Do you think the .48 a/r exhaust would do 300hp efficiently? I would be a bit concerned about a few things like manifold backpressure, increased cylinder temps, reversion, etc.

Just wanted to hear your views on the subject. I run a T3/T04E .50 with .76 trim turbine/ .63 a/r housing and make full boost by about 3800rpm with plenty of flow up top.

It would be suitable at the 300 BHP level. At the 300whp level you would start to build a good amount of backpressure on the top end similar to a T25. Depending on wastegate positioning the .48 can cause overboosting issues as well. However for the 7 - 10 PSI range, with a good external gate (Tial 38mm) he should be ideal.

No sense in losing spool when you want a ceiling of 300 BHP.

well whats the exhaust size of ur t3 turbo? actually whats the specs of the turbo? if its a 60 trim, u should be fine once ur exhaust is .63 A/R..............just run 1 bar and see where that puts u power wise.
