Alright so i did a ca18det swap in my 89 240sx and my open diff was getting a little lame. so i ordered a HLSD from an s15, it is still in the mail and i was just wondering as it seems alot of people get them with the HLSD. Do you really need the output shafts from the s15, or will i be alright with the stock ones. (also i know the HLSD is not supposed to be best for drifting blah blah blah but i just want a daily driver that i can drift if i try.)

Use the search function here. You will get well the answers you need. Long story short, no.

are you sure, because after searching for a few hours i figured. you do infact have to get the output shafts as they are 1/2 an inch longer and have 30 splines rather than 29

What I meant is no you cannot use open end output shafts. And then whatever output shaft bolt pattern you have, get the appropriate axles, hubs, etc.

i couldn't find any swaps where people swapped out the axles, hubs, and all that stuff. i'm pretty sure they are the same bolt pattern

If its a 6 bolt pattern in sets of 2' s than yes its s direct swap. If its 5 bolt, than j30 axles are needed. if it's 6 bolt star, you need rather a driver side z32 300zx tt axle or a r32 skyline driver side axle and q45 axle ( if that's the case hubs are required) if it comes with axles you should be fine. (unless the axles are 30 spline, than you will need hubs) that pretty much goes for all r200v diff swaps.

They are 6 bolt pattern in sets of 2, it is the HLSD out of a japanese S15. hopefully it turns out nice for just under 400 bucks with everything.
